Septoplasty- 05/22/18 A stitch blew in my left nostril yesterday and my left nostril is sore. I notice the left nostril opening is narrowing again. Is the surgery botched over one blown suture? And is it natural for the nostril to narrow post-op? Also- the stitch itself is very hard.
I had a botched septoplasty 40 plus years ago from a EENT doctor, who removed much cartilage. Since then my nose has closed up on both sides so I cannot breathe through my nose. I am a mouth breather and have sleep apnea. I want to have my breathing improved because I have frequent headaches. Does insurance HIC and Medicare pay any of these costs. I am in constant distress from not breathing correctly.
It's been 3 1/2 weeks post op and for the past week I've been experiencing a lot of drainage, Crustiness, blockage, and some slight wait around where the stitch was. It hurt slightly when I blow a little and one side is hard to breathe through and I took a flashlight and looked in my nose and it seems one side is closed/ very narrow.
Hello. I do have a some-what noticeable deviated septum. It does cause me breathing problems to the point where I can only breathe out of one nostril (rarely can I breathe out of both nostrils). However, I am refraining from doing such an operation in fear of a possible botched surgery. Should I be afraid of getting a septoplasty in fear of a possible botched nose, or should my fears be regarded as nonsense? Thank you!
I have a really nice nose and I don't want the tip of it to droop when I get older. If the septoplasty is not performed perfectly, is there a chance the tip of my nose/cartilage in my nose will get botched/weakened and then drip down/get bigger/more swelled up over time?
