Hi and thanks for the question. You should definitely see your surgeon in the next day or two. You may have a permanent suture (stitch) which has extruded, meaning the body is spitting it out. The soreness could be the sign of an infection. The stitch would probably need to be snipped and removed, which is usually easy to do in the office. I doubt that the stitch coming out a year after surgery would affect your breathing or septal straightness, but your surgeon would know best.Kind regards,Dr. Mehta
