Hello, I am 63 years old. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy in the early 1980s. Over the years I did not think I could ever have this very unattractive scar removed. I have gained confidence to search for this possibility. What can be done to remove it?
Hello. I am a 34yr old African-Americaan female. On March 8th, I had a hysterectomy. While I am thankful the surgery basically saved my life, I now have a midline incision causing a indentation in my stomach. It looks like a front butt. What can I do to not have an indented scar? I have been doing scar massages with Vitamin E oil for the last 2 weeks, as instructed by my surgeon. But it looks crazy.
I had the scar injected 4 times with steroids at 2 week intervals and then interrupted treatment because of an emergency that prevented me to go back to the dermatologist at the time. A month later, the scar seems to have popped back up even thicker. Is this normal? What can I do the ensure long-lasting results? The injections were very painful and bloody to start. (black skin)
On 8/20/20, I had a hysterectomy with vertical abdominal incision. When I lay down or pull my abdominal skin up under my breasts while standing, the scar appears flatter, but gravity makes the scar and skin/fat/fascia uneven. If I am a candidate for scar revision, which procedure(s) are recommended? Do I need to wait a certain length of time after hysterectomy? Would I need a referral by the surgeon who performed my hysterectomy? Thanks so much for helping to answer my questions and concerns.
I had a hysterectomy at age 30 due to fibroids. Due to the size of some of the numerous tumors, a vertical incision was required. The scar healed to the muscle wall. Especially the area closest to the pubic area. As such. Now that 14 years has passed and have gained weight, the scar is even more noticeable. As I put it, the fat cannot lay correctly. Also, of importance, I am prone to keloids. Any advice you can offer on how to get rid of the indented area is greatly appreciated.
Hysterectomy scar wasn't pretty (surgeon used glue). Scar revised by a plastic surgeon - ended up wide & keloid - so kenalog injection. Scar still looked bad so 5 months ago I went to a 2nd plastic surgeon (in different state now) and had 2nd revision. Again, wide and now more keloid than before. Surgeon injected kenalog - caused a large dent. This surgeon has offered to revise again and do a little lipo. I had ab lipo 3 years ago. I respect this surgeon but worry about it ending up even worse.
I'm 29 with 5 horizontal c sections 1 was a vertical with an emergency hysterectomy. I don't want to get a tummy tuck, I just want to have these scars removed, and what type of procedure would be performed?
I had a total open hysterectomy on 1/29/14. I had a c-section 21 years ago with no apron afterwards. But now I have an inch of skin that hasn't changed since the hysterectomy. It protrudes. I'm 5'3, 125lbs, 53 yrs old and in good shape. Still not much feeling in my lower abs. Not doing sit-ups yet. Should I wait longer? Mini TT? Full TT? Liposuction ?
