I had my surgery in march and I found out after my surgery From my ENT when I came in that I did not need any sort of turbinate surgery., I needed allergy shots before anything g. My PS told me different .I had to if I wanted my nose done. My taste & smell are awful. I can't smell and I can't taste much. I can taste very sweet , very salty and my love for hot sauce has gone away. Everything's to hot. How long does this take to go away?. I have lost 10lbs since surgery .
When I first woke up from surgery I ate some cookies, sandwiches and had lots of tea which tasted a little duller than usual but not so bad. Now five days after surgery I can't eat anything because it all tastes really gone off and putrid to the point where it makes me gag to eat. I can't even go into my kitchen because the faintest smell of food smells so evil it makes me feel sick. I know dull taste must be normal but everything smells and tastes so, so bad. What do I do? :(
Hi! A week ago I got a rhino/septoplasty, as well work on my turbinates. I got my splints and some sutures taken out yesterday and I thought I would finally be able to taste, smell and breath again; however, that wasn't the case...Though I am able to breath and taste a little better than with my splints in, I'm scared I will never regain these senses. At night I breath from my nose, but during the day its too hard for me so I breath with my mouth. Will I ever be able to taste/smell again???
I think it might be draining into my throat. I have a really really bad taste in my mouth, I'm at the point where I can't eat anything besides mints bc everything has a bad metalish taste to it. I bled out a bit, but not a lot. I'm using Saline drops and cleaning my nose and I've gotten my airways to open up a bit. The first few days after I was fine, and didn't have this taste, but when my airways started to open up that's when this taste came. Is this normal? I'm actually worried.
I went through a nose surgery 5 month ago. But after that I lost 85% of sensations of smell and taste. Doctors are saying that the sensations are natural can't predict when they will come. It there any possibility of regaining my sensations becoz I really don't know what I am eating or smelling..
Had a rhino septoplasty a week ago and I got the packing removed today but o still can't taste or smell anything event though I can breath from my nose. Please help is this normal or is it possible that I have lost my smell and taste senses during the surgery?
I have always been insecure about my nose and now I have considered rhinoplasty the last 10 years. Now, within the last couple of years (about 7-8) I realized that I can't breath well through my nose which causes me to snore when I sleep and I can't smell (or taste) either that well unless the object is right under my nose. My taste is pretty much gone.
