My bridge was lowered and my tip was rotated up from the original position. Im about 6 months post op and Im really disliking how my nose angles down when I smile still. My depressor septi was cut during surgery, so that isnt the cause. Is this due to my facial anatomy/cheek muscles, or is this something that can be fixed? I just want my tip to stay straight when I smile. Id prefer if it didnt move at all to be honest.
I don't mind my profile so much when I'm not smiling, but when I do smile, my droopy tip becomes much more pronounced. I look like a different person. Could snipping this muscle be an option and could this be done under local anesthesia? Thanks!
Im 6 months post primary septoplasty/rhinoplasty. I had a graft placed in my columella (presumably made from cartilage) which is still quite stiff. I am very thin skinned and most my swelling is gone. However, I still cant smile like I used to. My lip feel obstructed by my columella and wraps around it. My depressor muscle was also cut but I dont think it is due to this. What has gone wrong and is it fixable? How soon can I get it fixed and is it a simple revision?
I wanted to know what options are available to relax the septi muscle. I dont have an issue with my nose profile how ever when i smile it droops and i hate it ! it completely changes my face one side is worse the other. Can i have surgery to cut the muscle? or do i have to have a full rhino to fix this problem permanently ? thanks in advance
can I benefit from cutting only the depressor septi nasi muscle since I dont want to go for a full rhinoplasty? my nose drops so much and points down and my upper lip feels so tight while i smile. I also developed over the years a line above my lips, and developed a gummy smile as well which i did not have as a kid. last time I asked I actually didnt provide good pictures so I give one more shoot, hope for answers :)
Hello, I had a rhinoplasty 6 years ago (implant+tiplasty) and was thrilled with the results but noticed that the tip isnt as sharp as it once was. I believe this is due my nose drooping so excessively when I smile. Even with the less pointy tip, I am still content with my nose and am interested in just having the depressor septi muscle cut However, I cant find anything on pricing anywhere. I was wondering around how much just this procedure would be? Thank you in advance.
do nose surgeons know to cut the depressor septi nasi muscle from inside the mouth? (transoral approach) i am planning to do isolated procedure to only cut that muscle, and i prefer this approach rather than cutting it from the nose
Hello, I am going to have a septorhinoplasty done next year, and I am also considering lip repositioning surgery with my periodontist for my gummy smile (not due to depressor septi ligament). I wondering if there is a particular order I should have these procedures done in? I would like to have the lip repositioning done first, but I also heard that rhinoplasty can affect your upper lip and I don't want it to look too droopy. Thanks!
