My mother told me she knew a woman years ago who had a rhinoplasty which caused her to be blind and have mental retardation. I couldnt find evidence on this. Is this true? She told me it is possible because the nose is close to the brain. Shes scaring me.
Im wondering what risks there are to vision in general when undergoing a rhinoplasty procedure. I had done a bit of research about the risks but information on risks to vision are hard to come by.Im worried about risks to my job if my vision could be affected. Are there instances where blindness has occurred? How often? Are there ways to minimize the risks and what are they? What can I ask my doctor to feel confident moving forward with booking?
Could I get a bridge implant (DCF) & nothing done to the tip? Or would that be disproportionate? The only really problem I have with my nose is that the bridge is too flat. I like to solve this problem with filler but Im getting scared of blindness/necrosis lately. Is there any minimally invasive surgery technique that just focuses on raising the bridge slightly? What are your opinions on nose threads? Thank you
It's come to my attention surgeons can misplace tendons around the eye when breaking nasal bones. How likely it is it surgeons' work with tendons and bones around the can cause this outcome? What is the risk of osteotomies in rhinoplasty leading to these outcomes? How is this avoided in rhinoplasty? Osteotomies are a routine procedure; a very skilled rhino surgeon is being sued for doing this to a patient.
I have an overrotated tip that makes my nose appear short. Im considering whether fillers to raise the bridge / change the shape of the tip or a surgical nose job would be lower risk.
Hello, Im a 26 year old woman who was diagnosed with glaucoma when I was a teen. I've been on a nightly eye drop medication ever since and it is currently being controlled. Ive always wanted a rhinoplasty, but at the same time I want to take precautions due to my glaucoma. I am not sure if having work done on my nose will have an effect on my glaucoma or not. I am a little scared after I googled rhinoplasty and blindness, and read how blindness could be a complication of rhinoplasty.
I am having my broken nose fixed. I have tried straightening my septom on my own a couple of times and i remember it hurt my eyes and made them water, also I am worried about how much the operation will affect my eyes given that two black eyes occur following it? I really do not want to become blind
