I had a rhinoplasty 4 years ago. It was fine but 1 year ago I developed a lump on the bridge and it is getting bigger over time. It feels hard like scar tissue. Im scared it will keep getting bigger. What could it be? I cannot go back to my original surgeon, he is no longer practising. Ive consulted with a couple of uk surgeons but they are not keen on taking on a revision from another surgeon.
There is a graft hanging in my nostril. I noticed it immediately after surgery and it's still there. It's quite hard to the touch which makes me think it's a rib graft. It did affect my breathing but it seems to be getting better. My surgeon claims it's scar tissue but how can that be if it was there from day 1? Any reason to be concerned? For the most part it doesn't bother me and it doesn't hurt.
I have had 2 procedures for a deviated septum. 1 was 15 years ago following a break. The surgery that was more complicated than the surgeon expected. The second was in fall of 2019 because the deviated septum was back. The surgeon focused on correcting the breathing issues and less on the cosmetic part, but he told me that he would make it look good. My nose is still very hard and I have a lot of scar tissue. I had steroid shots post 2nd surgery with minimal results. Is there anything I can do?
I had a rhinoplasty/septoplasty performed in 2021 by a fantastic surgeon in Melbourne. Unfortunately I developed scar tissue build up on the right side of my nose (images are mirrored) and Ive had multiple cortisone injections tto help and theres been no change. As Mother to a 1 year old, a revision isnt affordable so Im hoping theres another way I can feel more confident again.
I got a rhinoplasty a year ago to fix my breathing issues (turninate infraction), to fix a scar on my columella from an accident previously, and then finally to removal my dorsal hump. I wanted the front of my nose to stay the same. Well somehow my nose ended up developing possibly scar tissue up on the bridge, and my nose tip has become harder/wider. Leaving my side profile lumpy. Is this something a steroid injection would fix or would I need a revision? Thank you.
I had a rhino in USA with an ENT for breathing. Then a revision with a plastic surgeon in USA for aesthetics. but the left airway collapsed and i had a lot of scar tissue blocking my airway around the tip of my nose. so i had another revision 2 weeks ago with an ENT in Turkey and now i can breathe again. I really want to get rid of my swelling quickly (my last (2nd) surgery swelling took 3 years to completely go away). But I wasn't living a very healthy or active lifestyle, or doing anything to address the swelling. I have thick skin and a big nose overall. I want this time around to be different. I've been taking bromelain and walking a little more and my swelling doesn't look as bad as it did with my 2nd surgery. I'm also taping per my surgeon's instructions. and using steriod cream in my nose 2x a day for a week. And I have a nostril retainer to keep my airways open. I'm interested in LED red light therapy to heal my nose quickly and help target swelling. My question is: will Red Light Therapy help or will it cause more scar tissue to grow? My last surgeon is in Turkey and he didn't seem to know much about it (he also seemed a little adverse to it because he hasn't seen the research) I've also heard some buzz on hyperbaric oxygen therapy, cryotherapy, arnica, etc. So please give me your feedback on that too. I also know from personal experience that bee pollen has helped me with inflammation in the past - I'm curious to hear if that might help too. Plastic Surgeons and ENTs, please advise asap!
16 months ago, first rhinoplasty. At 1-week splint removal, it was discovered an internal stitch fell out, resulting in fluid pooling directly above the columellar incision. Doc has injected steroids (no help) & laser, which help, but bump always grows back. Over next 8 months, my columella began dropping, 2nd procedure to remove scar tissue and cartilage. Im now 6 months after 2nd surgery, very little change. My columella is still hanging, is full of scar tissue, and is 2x thick as pre-op.
Will rasping help get rid of scar tissue? Is it true that it will only look good for 1-2 months but then develop contour irregularities ? I have scar tissue that my doctor suggested shaving down however im concern it will be worse or come back. Or is a full revision best?
I got a rhinoplasty a year ago and 2 mo. ago and currently have a small but noticeable bump on my bridge due to scar tissue. I have gotten one steroid shot when I was 8-9 mo. post op but it is still there. The doctor suggested shaving down the fibrosis. Will shaving down fix my issue? How is this done?will it grow back? what is post care like and common complications?
