I am seeking your advice on whether a low dose of isotretinoin could be effective in treating enlarged sebaceous glands. I have three raised lesions on my nose, initially believed to be scars but recently diagnosed as enlarged sebaceous glands by a dermatologist. Despite undergoing three treatments with Dioxium laser (10600 nm ablative and 1540 nm non-ablative), the issue persists. When I suggested isotretinoin, the doctor mentioned it would only reduce oil production, not shrink the glands.
So Ive read a lot of bad reviews for retin-a making pores worse. I just started using it only once a week. My pores are somewhat more noticeable unfortunately. What should I do? I dont have time for anything that involves downtime for healing. Im guessing the big pores are sun damage.
I was in a car accident 4.5 months ago. I sustained an injury to my nose. They used dermabond to close it and after that fell off I began using hydrocolloid bandages on it until it was fully healed. Since then, about 3.5 months I've been using silicone sheeting on it. The scar is thin however I think it could look better. Can I start using tretinoin cream on it now to make it less noticeable or is it too early?
Always suffered from acne and blackheads. Now I'm getting cysts on my nose (not sure why) I wash my face twice a day, exfoliate 2x a week, and I use a moisturizing oil every night before bed. I have Retin-A 0.05% and I just started tonight. Any tips or recommendations would be very helpful and appreciated!
I have only been using 0.3 % retinol cream (Laroche Laposay Retinol B3) for 3 days and I have noticed that the broken capillaries on the sides of my nose are much more visible than before. The information on this subject is quite confusing and the internet is plagued by contradicting information. So I would like to know from an expert wether the thinning of the epidermis caused by Retinol would make my capillaries more visible or the opposite?
So I used retinA for the last 2 years now acne is very minimal and sporadic. started to use triluma combined with retin A .1 in Sept 2017 and heard that triluma is only supposed to be used for 2 months? i have been using about 5 nights/week for the last 4 months. My nose gets red if I pinch it im Black with relatively dark skin so im concerned this red nose thing is a sign of thinning skin I am not sure what the long term effects of either cream is so im a bit concerned
Ive been using retin-a for 4 days now..I know that it causes redness and peeling but I think its a little extreme. My face is very sensitive & its constantly burning, the stinging on my cheeks & nose are causing my eyes to tear. I decided to give my skin a 2/3 day break and then get back to it gradually..Ill start with using it twice a week and work my way up. But, in order to soothe my skin, I was thinking of using a yogurt and honey mask, so just wanted to make sure that would be okay.
I plan to start a programme of sculptra in two weeks time. Can I use Retin A in conjunction with sculptra. If so should I wait until I see the effects of sculptra before using Retin A? I am 46 years old and have lost some volume from my cheeks and have developed lines between my nose and mouth.
