I had an unsuccessful levator advancement surgery 4 weeks ago and this surgery did not improve my lid at all and my lid is as droopy as before. Surgeon wanted to do revision now because most of the swelling has gone down. Should I get revision now before a lot of scar tissue start forming or should I wait 3 to 6 months to heal completely first then do revision?
My eyes were mostly even prior to surgery but the right eye was slightly ptotic. Now my left eye seems like it has ptosis but worse, they are very obviously uneven. My surgeon keeps on saying there's hardly a difference but it's due to swelling. I think the right eye was done too high and doesn't match the left. I understand you can't reach complete symmetry but this is really bad. I am so upset. I really regret doing this as I liked my eyes before but was told I needed this for better vision.
I have suffered with chronic eyelid contractions for many years. May are uncomfortable sensations of my eyes wanting to open wide. These are not twitches, although I get those too. Years ago the right eye stopped spasming and i developed a ptosis. I just had it corrected 5 weeks ago then the left eye drooped, but stopped spasming. I plan to have to fixed when I can.
I had ptosis surgery 4 weeks ago and am very scared and unhappy with the results. My eye looks worse than it did before surgery. I also can't look up as the muscle feels 'stuck'. I also still have slight double vision. The doctor keeps giving me steroids to reduce inflammation. How long do you have to wait for a revision? I went to a very reputable surgeon who specializes in this.
Updated Question: I had ptosis surgery 5 weeks ago now. I had the levator muscle tightened by a specialized oculoplastic surgeon. He tightened my muscles as far as he could so there is no way to do a revision later on. When I go back after 3 months post op he suggested a sling. I have been advised against that by doctors here Did the surgery made things worse? Is there any other surgery options out there for me? I hate my eyes anymore and it's becoming more difficult on my vision?
