Long story short, after not smoking for years I recently had a rough break up and got back into serious smoking... I am talking a pack a day for th entire past week (breakups suck). Anyways, now my surgery is exactly 3 weeks from today. Should I postpone the surgery or if I do not smoke anymore is this OK? I completely forgot that you should not smoke :( I am getting mixed answers on google, some reading 6-8 weeks others 2 weeks. I am otherwise a healthy person, 115lbs and 30 years old + vitamin
Hi, I'm preparing for my TT and breast lift. I pretty much quit smoking about 8 weeks ago with the exception of maybe one night a week when I was drinking. Over Thanksgiving I did give in and smoke about half a pack a day for a couple of days. Now I'm back to not smoking. I have preop 11 days from last cig and surgery 13 days after that. I know I pushed it to much but how long does it really take to get the nicotine and cotinine out of my system and pass the test ?
I quit smoking almost a year a go. Recently, I've been going through stress and had the urge to smoke again. Instead of smoking, I started back on NRT. I use the Nicorette lozenges, about 3-4/day. How soon before surgery should I stop?
I have tried to research this question 1000 ways to Sunday with zero solid answers. Just a whole lot of dancing around the subject and information on nicotine being a vasoconstrictor (which I know) what I WANT to know.... Is it safe to vape using ZERO nicotine e-liquid? And by zero nicotine, I mean NO nicotine. Just the flavored liquid. Nicotine is the reason smoking and nicotine replacement is a big no-no ... So it stands to reason that using juice without nicotine should be safe?
I'm going under the knife for a mommy makeover in about 3 weeks and I'm getting a bit paranoid. I know there are certain inherent risks to surgery in general, but are there more involved in this? I'm getting a tummy tuck with lipo on my hips and a breast augmentation. I heard of a woman who died two days post a mommy makeover surgery. Or..is it factors such as obesity, smoking etc, that make it more risky? I'm healthy, young, don't smoke and I'm not overly heavy.
I am scheduled for a mommy makeover ( breast lift and augmentation and tummy tuck with lipo) in 2 weeks, 13 days to be exact. I have been about a half a pack a day smoker for 11 years. Is 14 days enough time to quit before my procedure?
I quit smoking 10/26/15 and bc I did use to smoke I'm concerned about skin necrosis. I did ask my doctor but he didn't seem too concerned about it & said I've already done everything I could do by not smoking. Is there anything I can do further to lower the risks such as vitamins, etc? what exactly is the percentage or average of past smokers getting skin necrosis (like 1 in 10 or 2% out of 118,000). Any insight would greatly be appreciated!
I do not smoke everyday nor every weekend.I had read different reviews and I heal pretty good from a regular cut. I am a healthy individual. My surgery is schedule for Saturday 11/22/14 and I wanted to know if the fact that I smoked a (just 1) cigarette last Friday would affect the healing process?
