I had liposuction to my abdomen and hips 6 weeks ago. My abdomen is extremely hard and I have what I can describe as wrinkly skin adhered to my abdomen wall. My surgeon says to give it 6 months and it may resolve. Im really worried that my abdomen will permanently look this way.
I'm an athletic woman who got thighs lipoed. Woke up shaking, freezing, hospitalized for 2 days, couldn't use the bathroom and a catheter had to be inserted. 16 days later swelling is gone, thighs look normal besides bruising and hardness, but can't bend my legs fully. Feels like skin is glued to front of quads and side of thighs. I can't sit/kneel/squat because it feels like muscle/skin will tear. Is this because of adhesion? What can I do? Surgeon says whole experience has been normal
One scar is from appendectomy, one from back surgery done through abdomen and one was a lipoma removal (on left saddlebag area). Could possible adhesions resulting from these surgeries interfere with liposuction success?
I am now 10 weeks post op liposuction under the chin. I developed adhesions causing skin to tack down. Aggressively massaged and currently do ultrasound per Surgeon suggestion. I still have lots of banding that is seen in most lighting. Does this usually also go away within about 6 mos like the lumps and swelling? When I look up people can see lots of little lines and ropes just underneath the skin. Plus there's a spongy pad where the adhesio was like it turned into a thick layer of tissue.
I had submental lipo and developed an adhesion. Started small then progressively got larger and pinned a couple areas of skin causing dimpled look. I know the swelling on either side exaggerates it but the skin itself looks gross and puckered. Only 3 wks postop. I'm trying Accent Laser, lymphatic massage w/scar tissue focus and will look into ultrasound if I can afford it, plus I massage too. Now internal scar tissue getting thicker and turning nodular. Is that bad or mean it's breaking up?
3 months post-op, noticed dent at 2 months. Skin feels tacked down to the muscle. Felt a 1 long x 0.5 wide fibrous band of tissue underneath the dent. The surrounding skin is supple/loose, indented area is firm and almost immobile. My BOARD CERTIFIED plastic surgeon said to massage and mobilize the tissue - no success. Doubt I can manually break up something this big. Can the fibrous tissue be released? What're the risks/benefits? Can anything be done under local? What would be YOUR approach?
