I decided that I must remove it, and met with 4-5 plastic surgeons. Some suggested a local anesthesia in office, while some suggested full anesthesia in a hospital. Also, one Dr. Mentioned it would damage nerves in back of my head and I wouldn't have feeling there post surgery. Is this true? I'm just totally confused and nervous about this decision and which route to go. Also, can it be the reason for ear and head pressure that I have been having? Will removal help that?
40 male with 6cm by 3cm by 2.5cm lipoma on the back right side of my head slightly growing into my neck muscle. It became infected so it was decided that it had to come out so i had the proceedure. During which the occipital nerve was severed resulting in extreme numbness on 25 percent of my scalp along with burning and shooting pain up the right side of my neck through my scalp and into my right eye. It has gotten worse over these 4 months with no end in sight. What are my options? Please help!
I have a 1 cm lipoma on the front of my thigh that I am thinking about getting removed but I'm worried about the complications of surgery and cutting into the skin. How deep is the incision for removing a lipoma and is there a chance I will have complications and neuropathy from a damaged nerve during the removal? Thank you!
Hello, I have a lipoma which is a little under 1cm on my forehead. It is located 2 cm above the eyebrow. I am really scared of nerve damage although I was told there wasn't where it is placed. However, I would like more opinions. Thanks for your help
I had a lipoma removed from my right eyebrow and havent been able to raise the right side of my face since surgery, it has been 2 weeks since my surgery. Should this concern me or will I regain the ability to raise my right eyebrow? Im think maybe the glue being tight is is making it to where I cannot scrunch that side of my forehead
Hi guys! I have a lipoma on my right temple area. Noticed it a couple years ago. I have seen a doctor and got it examined, but decided not to have surgery at the time because the doctor said it can cause damage to my facial nerve. I believe its growing in size and Im now feeling pressure in my right ear. I will be making another appointment tomorrow just to see if theres other options that wont lead to nerve damage. Does anyone have any expert with this or can give any suggestions?
I had a small lipoma, about an inch wide, removed from the left side of my forehead. After the surgery there was a large swelling, about the size of half a golf ball. I got bruised and looked terrible for a couple of weeks. But what worries me more is that there is severe numbness and stinging on the top of my head and my scalp, above the scar. Even worse, I cannot lift my eyebrow more than a few millimeters. Will I recover from this and how long does it take? And will the stinging go away?
I loss the sensation from the top of my scale after moving a lipoma on top my eyebrow. The nerve affected is more likely the supra-orbital nerve. If I puss down on the bottom side of the incision site, I could feel the top of my scalp as if being scratched. So is my nerve damage permanent? I just has surgery in the last two days, so what should I do.
Per the radiology report: it's a well encapsulated fatty mass in the antecubital soft tissues along the proximal radial cortex measuring 5.0x3.2x3.1 centimeters. Orthopedic recommends surgical removal and warned of nerve damage, YIKES. Is an orthopedic surgeon who should be performing this surgery? I have a follow up/second opinion with an orthopedic oncologist. What should questions should I be asking?
