Im a 20 year old female. Ive had a dime sized lipoma on my left leg below my inguinal area on my upper thigh since I was 13. Never caused me any problems until recently when I woke up with it tender and swollen. Over 3 days it became painful, red, and the size of a 50 cent piece. Dermatologist diagnosed it as an angiolipoma and injected it with steroids to help with the pain and inflammation. I would like to have it removed, should I have the dermatologist remove it or go to another surgeon?
I have a large lipoma (9cm) on my left bicep that my doctors tell me is underneath my muscle which is not as common as most. This being said, my left bicep looks noticeably larger than my right bicep so I am strongly considering having it removed for cosmetic reasons. My surgeon informed me that he would like to have an orthopedic surgeon do the surgery with him since mine is in such a difficult place and may be attached to nerves. Will having it removed leave a large scar all down my arm? I am only 18 so this concerns me.
Several years ago I was told that the bumps on my body are lipomas and to leave them alone. My parents did not want to spend the money to remove them. I am now in my late 20's and have over 40 on my arms, legs, and abdomen. I don't need all of them removed but there are a handful that is causing pain and numbness in my arm. I need to know what type of doctor i should see to get these removed with insurance help and as little cost to me. At this point I am desperate....
I dreaded getting this hump that seems to run in my mother family at the base of the neck that makes the neck look as if it is non existent from the back. I developed it in my early 20s (super self conscious as Im only 24)and it is causing strain and pain in my neck and shoulders and discomfort when wearing a supportive bra (Im too heavy as well). I have BCBSTX for insurance. Is this a lipoma? Should I have it removed? Will insurance cover this or what would it cost out of pocket? Thank you!
Hello! I'm a 22 year old female, in decent shape, otherwise healthy. Strange lump (hard and painful), became more and more painful in 2 months' time - walking, coughing. A picture & diagnosis: intramuscular lipoma, a hypo-echogenic nodus of 2.3 on 2.7 cm, homogenous, on the source? of the gluteus maximus, left side lower back. No further research, operation apparently no option. Pain keeps getting worse and back feels tight and tense in its vicinity. Doctor says I should simply try to live with it. I am not sure what to do, do you have any advice?
Hey, I am 19 year old and I went to the hospital because I felt a soft knot in my head and they did a CT scan and they said it was a lipoma on the right side of my head, and then said I need to get it removed so now Im waiting for the surgeon to call me. But now my lipoma is getting hard and its very painful is that normal? And getting big too, thank u so much!
