Hi, thanks for your question. Unfortunately, exercise won't help you get rid of your lipoma. A lipoma is a collection of fat cells under your skin that overgrow and create a bump. They are usually harmless, but if yours is causing you discomfort or you don't like the look of it, I would recommend that you book an in person consultation with a dermatologist or board certified plastic surgeon in order to see about getting it removed. It can only be surgically removed, but the procedure is quite simple and is performed under a local anesthetic. When properly removed the lipoma will not grow back in the treated area.
It would be helpful to examine you to determine if you have a lipoma on the back of your neck or if it is something else. If it is a lipoma, this normally would not change with exercise. The usual treatment of a lipoma is surgical excision.
I would get a consult to see if you truly have a lipoma or just a buffalo hump. this would need weight loss with hormonal ooptimization and liposuction (see link). Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for sharing your question. In most cases a lipoma will not respond to diet and exercise weight loss and surgery is needed to remove it. Hope this helps.
