I am a 36/F interested in shortening the philtrum but have a long history of keloid/hypertrophic scarring. I was hoping I would age out of this tendency but after a minor surgery site from last month started to raise, I sadly still scar badly. I have naturally pillowy and cupid's bow lip with keyhole pout so wouldn't want to alter my lips other than subtle fullness to combat natural aging process . What are my options?
I had bullhorn on 1 November . Philthrum 17 mm. Removed 4mm. On 3 November discovered I have infection and pus. This slowed down my healing very badly . 9 November removed stitches but the wounds did not heal fully hence re- stitched again for it to heal properly . Due to remove stitches on 16 November . From the attached photos , do you think the healing will be good ? Is co2 better for scarring or silicon tape ? If I want to redo due to a bad scar (if any) , when is the earliest ?
I was wondering if my anatomy was suitable for a liplift. As you can se in the picture my philtrum is not straight. And if you would do a lip lift how much skin would you take? My chin is 36mm and my philtrum is 20mm.
Would it look weird if I got a lip lift with a crooked philtrum due to a deviated septum? I don't plan on getting a rhinoplasty for a few years because my nose doesn't look that bad, but the minor deviation has caused my philtrum to be crooked. Can this be corrected during the lip lift? And if so does this mean I can't get a rhinoplasty later in life?
I don't know if i'd be qualified for a lip lift or not, as i don't want it to look unnatural but i'm wondering if there's anything i can do to correct this problem i have where my upper teeth don't show.
I'm considering getting a lip lift and I'm not sure if I actually have a long ohiltrum or not. When I measure in the mirror, it is 18mm. But I asked my boyfriend to measure my philtrum when laying down, and then it's only 14mm. What is the more accurate measurement: taken standing, or laying down?
The receptionist and I are disagreeing about the philtrum length recorded. I measure 12.-13 mm while they say that its 15 mm. I wanted to ask if my philtrum still looks long after surgery? Im fairly certain its closer to 12-13 (I measured 3-4 times) but the receptionist insists that 15 mm post op is what was recorded, which feels on the longer side.
