Years ago I had 2 top teeth removed due to a crowded condition. Just one was replaced with an implant, resulting in a shift of my midline, & poor bite alignment. My bottom teeth are now crooked due to my top misaligned teeth. My dentist recommended Invisaline. I started treatment & realized they weren't fixing my top teeth so my bottom teeth could be straightened, but just pushing my bottom teeth back behind my misaligned top teeth creating a sunken look to my face. Is there a better option??
I had braces for 1.5 years and got them off 2 years ago. Did the traditional braces where i had 4 teeth extracted and shifted inwards. Though right after i removed it, sunken cheeks and hollow smile were not that apparent but right now, it is! Particularly how sunken in my lower lip, upper lip looks and the cheek look! cheeks became super deferent. I want to know if i can improve my profile by pushing upper and lower lip forward. Through invisalign, veneers ??
extraction of the upper and lower 2nd premolars, retraction of the lower and upper front teeth to reconfigure my bite to a Class I and to make up for the spaces created by extraction of the premolars. Will I experience significant changes to my front profile? i read numerous reports of sunken in mouth areas (see attached example photos), tongue retraction leading to sleep apnea and breathing issues, etc as a result of retraction orthodontics.
I started Invisalign at 21 and it ruined my face. My mouth looks sunken in, my face has lost its fullness, and my jawline is no longer distinct. I look gaunt and old. My dentist convinced me to get Invisalign to align my bite which she said was causing me to grind and clench my teeth at night. She said it would be an easy fix and that the problem was on the back right side of my teeth. She didn't explain that my entire smile and face would be changed. I can't live like this. Help.
