Open bite determined by MRI to not be skeletal. Only second molars touched. I also have TMD with a displaced right disc. 1st yr: Invisalign. Bite improved, TMD got worse. 2nd yr: Braces with TADs. Intrusion on TADs was effective but temporary. Overjet got worse (maybe tongue thrust?) 3rd yr: Back on Invisalign. Elastics are hooked over the aligners to the TADs. I'm on my last aligners, but bite is still way off. Plus, TMJ grinding/popping again. Help! Suggestions are much appreciated.
I'm a 28 years old girl. I started invisalign to correct my slightly crooked. Besides, I have too much maxillary height. My ortho said it would improve a bit but to get perfect results I should undergo surgery (and I won't). I've read that invisalign tends to intrude the posterior region due to the forces applied when wearing the trays. I wonder if I could intentionally put a constant pressure when wearing the trays that could cause more intrusion than the originally expected.
I had two upper bicuspids extracted as a pre-teen for orthodontic work. The result of this was an under-developed maxilla, a long face and an open bite. I've used a homeoblock appliance for 2 years to develop the maxilla. This helped develop the arch but caused my molars to erupt further. It's not a crazy open bite in that my front teeth can touch. What non-surgical things can be done to help correct this? I've just been reading about invisalign helping in such cases - could this work for me?
I got my bottom right two molars removed and my top molars are shifting downwards. I was told it was called an intrusion. I am looking to get implants now that money is doing better and I am curious if invisalign will help align my back teeth to fit an implant. Can invisalign push the teeth back up? My dentist said it either can or it can 50% and they can shave down the rest to make some room but im still very anxious about it.
