I have had the same port pain for over 9 years since my surgery. I stopped using my Lap band (LB) after two years (completely unfilled, no slips). I have suffered in silence with this constant pain for a long time because of the shame I felt that I did this to myself and thought why would I not hurt? I have a foreign object in my body! But enough is enough. Last night I layed on my left side and just wept. I am so tired of hurting. The LB removal bariatric doctor did not even look at my port?
I had the lap band put in 5 years ago. I failed myself big time, I gained all the weight back and some. Lately I've been experiencing pain near the port. Could the pain just be from the added weight? I've starred trying to eat better this week & want to start exercising too.
I am 4 years out from my lap band surgery. I started working with a fitness trainer. I had a cramp in my side Tuesday and Wednesday I noticed a huge purple bruise (about the size of my hand) 3 inches bellow my port on my belly. I am eating fine and only sore due to recent increase of physical activity. I was doing boxing punches and twists as my exercise. I am vitamin D deficient.
I've lost 145 pounds since I had the surgery, and I not only feel the port, but if I'm sidelying it's as if I feel the port move or push into me. It doesn't hurt, but it's not comfortable. I had it checked to see if it's slipped about 8 mo ago and it hadn't, but I've lost more weight since then (30 pounds). Is this a normal sensation considering my weight loss? Or should I have it checked again? The last dr deflated it & we are planning on removing it when my schedule allows for surgery.
All of a sudden I'm having 7/10 pain all around the port and it's also radiating towards my umbilicus. It's constant and burning/sharp pain, no matter what position I'm in .i didn't injur myself today. It feels warm to touch and swollen but not red, the incision is almost healed and looks good. What kind of port problems could it be?
I have had this ache on my side for three weeks. I originally found my port to the right of my belly button after surgery. I had no issues for the first week. Now I can feel my port right below my rib cage. I went to the ER and they said put ice on it and hopefully once the swelling goes down it will migrate back down. I'm still in pain. It feels like a constant side cramp that you get from running, except it feels like the port is rubbing again something. What should I do? Is this common?
