I had a 5000 ht about 6 months ago and I have been dealing with scratching since month 3. I have been scratching severely at times and would like to know if the damaged hair will grow back healthy if the scratching stops and the scalp heals. Should I shave it all off and wait for the regrowth ? I feel like the parts where I scratch have lost thickness and even hairs fell out and also the color changed. What should I do to fix this issue ? Please help as i am worried.
I have a chronic habit of scratching my head when asleep. Happens a lot now due to all the rubbish I use in my hair now i.e hair fibre and sticky sprays. I am concerned when I have a HT I may scratch my head and risk follicles to fall. Any suggestions how I can reduce this risk? Thank you.
Hi! During my sleep I accidentally scratched my head a lot and small crusts with hairs attached to them fell. I am 10 days post FUE and I am very afraid I may have lost grafts and jeopardized my surgery. I am very, very concerned and please ask for your professional opinion.
Hello all :) I had a hair transplant 4 weeks ago (FUE). I experienced very little shedding since my transplant probably because i was shampooing very very gently on the scalp. This in turn resulted into a thick crusty layer on my scalp. Today I had this brain fade moment where i decided to scratch off this crust which in turn resulted into nearly 100-150 Hair that fell off. Are these dead hair? Or have I now lost 150 precious grafts!? Many thanks.
Hello I had a FUE hair transplant 9 days and started gently removing the scubs, yesterday with my fingers and nails because the area was very dry and itchy. The problem is that with the scubs some hair attached to them on both sides came out and some scubs where with 2 or 3 hairs attached but no bleeding occur on my transplanted area. I hope this are not the grafts that came out can you help me on this? I still have small hairs left without scubs and I collect what came off and send you a photo
Hi! I did a hair transplant with FUE method 2,5 months ago. Since the operation my head has been itching regularly, but I have avoided scratching. I press with the back of my fingers on the area to ease the itching. However, I think I might scratch my head at night in my sleep because I have recently, last 2-3 weeks, have small wounds on my head, maybe 3-6 in total. I have seen blood stains on my pillow and I have crusts on my head from the wounds. Should I be worried? Is it normal? What to do?
I got a FUE hair transplant done a few days ago and I knew I wasn't supposed to touch the scabs on the receiving area so I didn't, but I didn't think much about scratching the donor area(where it was shaved). It started itching a couple days after the procedure so I started scratching and scratched off a lot of scabs. But now I see all these posts about how scratching the scab off is a big no no because the hair won't grow from that part. I want to know if it applies to the donor area as well.
Hi doctors, The more I scratch them the bigger they get. I only have lots of bumps on the back of my head the side are perfectly fine and the recepient area is fine too. Please help my doctors and also is my scratching exacerbating the bumps.
I'm about 8.5 months out form FUE, I've been told to use minoxidil for the first year. All was fine until month 5 when the itching became worse. Since then, for the last 3 months or so, I have found myself scratching the recipient area, particularly in my sleep, I'll wake up scratching or when watching tv I'll realize I'm doing it. Could this have an adverse affect on the result? All looks very even, not patchy, still hoping for more density though. Minox stings slightly when I put it on.
