I had a successful facelift in Korea. I returned home to UK a couple of days ago and noticed a very palpable permanent suture close to my skin below one ear . It is painless but I feel it close to the surface. Visually, I don't mind but am concerned the suture will come out. Is this likely? Or will it jut stay put? My Korean surgeon said it's simple to have the suture trimmed under local but I'm not sure how possible this is to access in home country as I had surgery abroad.
So after so many weeks of searching a good face lift surgeon it seems I get different answers. I don't understand this anymore, does facelift implies using FOREIGN bodies, as some doctors said permanent sutures in my face or not ??????? I would avoid such things like permanent foreign bodies in my face, because of later infection or those sutures can broke as I rationally believe. Also some doctors offer this surgery under local anesthesia, some offer it under general only
Had facelift 5 weeks ago in another country. Scars I front of and behind ears. Told no sutures to be removed. Noticed very painful behind one ear in the area top of ear where my glasses touch. Close inspection shows an inflammed hole with a wire type of suture sticking out quite sharp and possibly another blue suture same hole. Cannot go back to surgeon as too far away. I think it might be a permanent deep suture and if this is the case will it be there forever irritating my skin? Other side is ok.
My Absorbable sutures in neck and under ears are not absorbed after 3 months. They are Causing sharp poking pain when touched and showing just under the skin. The PS surgeon i used said he can do nothing about this. Please any advice is appreciated. Can I go to any gp clinic and ask to have them cut out. They seem like I have them for life now. Sad
I am considering a facelift and endoscopic brow lift with a plastic surgeon who uses Gore-tex sutures for both. I'm nervous about having permanent sutures left inside my body. I am also nervous about having something attached to my skull. Will I feel these things inside my body after the surgery, and will they be irritating? Or is this standard procedure? Is Gore-Tex the best option?
I had a lower facelift/necklift 15 months ago & I still frequently have pain & I consistently have numbness where the internal stitches were located. Short of opening up the wounds is there any imaging technology that will confirm whether the stitches have dissolved? My surgeon said they should have resolved in no more than 12 months but my sensation has not changed & my neck is still flushed red where the platysma was sewn to the mastoid laterally. What are the potential L-T consequences?
After face lift, my surgeon took out suture (thread) and then I found out more sutures. So, my coordinator helped me visit and a nurse took care of. However, I still found more. After my surgeon took out suture, I had to visit 3 times and the nurse took out about 15 suture (knots and thread) on my head. I also found out some thread (white string) on my nose which my surgeon told me to leave alone since it would be absolved. No problem with stitch remaining after surgery?
Do you think it's a good idea to massage your face and neck after a facelift.? My doctor only wants me to massage where my sutures were and a little area on my chin. Some other patients surgeons recommend massaging the entire face And neck . What are the pros and cons of massaging at 4 weeks..?
