Many neck lift patient photos show a horizontal incision through the sideburn, down the front of the ear, behind the ear and along the hairline behind the ear. Another approach skips the sideburn incision, goes down the front of the ear and finishes with a horizontal incision from the back of the ear with staples into the hairline. Can you please explain why the differences in incisions, and if the lack of sideburn incision will shorten the length of outcome?
I was wondering if it may be anything to do with my Nickel allergy? I know that surgical staples are usually made from Titanium, but medical advice that I have read states -Titanium staples are never solely titanium; they all have some amount of nickel content. Patients who have allergies to nickel, for example cheap jewelry causes a rash or earrings cause break-outs, oozing, or itching, should discuss nickel allergies with their surgeon. Can you advise please?
I had a facelift 5 days ago. This area itches. I don't know if the itching is caused by the spots are spots caused by scratching These spots Cannot be felt and are on only one side. I am to go back to the dr in 3 days to Have staples removed
What are the doctors opinions on using staples or stitches? Is there an area of the face where one is better than the other? Read staples aren't a good idea ever. Is this true? A doctor I had a consult with stated they use them in the hair because its easier on the hair. I want to have a face lift this winter. Is it appropriate for me to tell a doctor no staples?
I am due to have the remaining 1/3 of my staples from behind my ears removed in 5 days. I will be 1 mon. post op Facelit. I've had great results and am ahead of schedule in my healing. The Dr. said I have a thickened scab on the incision line under a staple. He just suggested I shampoo the area a bit more vigorously. Could this scab delay the removal of that staple or two? I am finding the staples to be increasingly irritating making back sleeping EVEN more difficult! Thank you
My impression is that most doctors use staples during a face lift. There is one doctor that I know of who does not. My impression is that staples leave more scarring. Also, using staples seems like a short cut to me. What do you all think about that?
I just had an Endotine midface lift with lifting the corner of the eyes only by vertical excision of skin above the years just behind the hairline.I was told by the surgeon that the incisions would be about 1-2 inch on each side just above the years , inside the hair basically invisible, but when I removed the bandages, I was surprised there where about 5 inch long at the hair line on each side and stapled with metal, not sutures. Are staples appropriate to be used in this case?
