I still have numbness and hardness all in front of my ear sutures. I've noticed a depression/ hollowness between cheekbones and jaw area and people thinks my face has changed and think I lost weight because of that. Is that normal at this point of time and is it gonna be better later on?
Something under my soft tissue which wasn't droopy, has been lifted up causing constant pull and discomfort. soft tissue which would be good to lift towards my ear is separated from underneath and fallen down. Lower cheeks hollowed out, upper cheek looks wide horizontal and out of frame of face like I had implants. Middle of face by my nose, looks hollowed out and nose collapses as I breath. Eyes look small with deep valley between cheek and eye. Hard cheeks. How long will this last? Please help
The sides of my face and neck seem hard 10 days post surgery. Maybe still some swelling? What can I do to help resolve this? I am having my stitches out in 2 days and the staples behind my ears, could it get better once those are gone? Plus I think I have developed a small hematoma in front of one ear, maybe dime sized or a bit smaller, which I will have him look at. I knew there would be swelling and numbness, but this seems like something different. I start a new job in 3 1/2 weeks, but I am worried.
Intolerable tight, throbbing, vice-like band around face, neck & ears. Difficult & noisy swallowing. Neck/ collarbone skeletonized. Tightness & hardness increasing every week. Slightest impact (e.g. going over bump in road while driving) makes face clamp down and throb unbearably. I can't function normally. Have seen PS several times, says everything looks good but I'm in excruciating discomfort. PS says he's never had a patient with these issues and I should see a medical specialist.
5 months after neck and facelift, I am still completely numb, with tightness, hardness, and dry skin. I understand nerves take time to regenerate and that scar tissue had been laid down beneath the undermined skin---that the type of collagen initially deposited is type III which is stiff and knotted but gets converted to smoother, more flexible collagen type I over time. I've read that taking collagen type I with HA and vit C promotes healthy skin. Might it help with the hardness and tightness?
I am concerned about the ropey feeling on the side of my neck, and hard ridges on the sides of my face, and the severe hardness, not sure if it's just swelling as I had my facelift surgery 12 days ago. If it's swelling, I will just give it more time as this seems to be a slow process. My expectations were so much different from the reality, and I am of course worried, which doesn't help.
