I had a facelift/neck lift 3 weeks ago. My right earlobe suture came out last Wednesday, my Dr stitched my whole ear up again, removed the stitches approx 5 days later, this Wed & today (Sat) after showering my lobe was bleeding and is not attached any better. I don't smoke, no issues that would effect healing. Problem, wound care, I had a bad reaction to Polysporin so am asking for suggestions for wound care and how to get this ear to heal as fast as possible. Just use Vaseline?
Medical research studies published by NIH and the American Heart Association on the internet say fish oils do not cause bleeding or blood clotting problems, yet other internet websites say they do. Very confusing. Opinions from plastic surgeons as whether patients should stop taking fish oil 2 weeks or less before surgery and when to resume are all over the map. What is the most current practice standard? Thinking of having a facelift.
Many of the women on the facelift forums say they took Arnica and Bromelain prior to their facelift to help with swelling. Others say their doctors told them that was nonsense and just to avoid salt, alcohol, too much sugar and anything that causes bleeding like Vit E, aspirin, Ibuprofen etc. SO: Do any doctors here think that Arnica/Brom actually work? I'm extremely skeptical about supplements and think they are mostly just nonsense.
I felt that I was pulled too tight on the left hand side. Waking up in recovery, the first thing I said was that the left hand side of my neck felt too tight. I look very lopsided but am too embarrassed to post a full face. I went out of state for my surgery. I have been sending my surgeon photos but he says he cannot open them. I posted photos a few days ago about my scars not healing right (they were big and red) but today they started to bleed.
I had a bleed when drains were removed. Not drained or cleaned out. Lumps & cords are now showing up. Area under chin is a thick, firm pad. When I look at down at my desk, for example, it presses on throat, feel like Im about to be choked. Could this worsen? Had 1 visit with a physical therapist, <40% movement side-to-side. Raising my head up from position shown 0%. This effect my ability to work, to drive, etc. Not sure if I can wait 6-12mos. for this to heal & what type of Dr. to see.
it will be 6 weeks since my face lift procedure. I do have swelling under the chin area and am very concerned. I started to massage the area as told by my Doc and the first night I did this I woke up with blood/fluid (small amount) coming out of my ear canal, both ears. Is this also normal? Thank you for your answer in advance.
I had a facelift about 7 weeks ago. About 2-3 days ago, I started some slight bleeding behind one ear. It's not a lot, and once I blot it with tissue it stops. Doctor said it could be some Separation but not really clear what that means, or what the impact is, or if I should be concerned. Doesn't really hurt, and again, it's a very slight amount but still has me concerned this far after surgery. I have been unusually slow to recover from this process, and this is one more thing going on.
