I am a 58 yo male diagnosed with diastasis Rectus. It makes a large bulge when lifting head and shoulders when lying. I went to internist because I was having pain during night that would wake me after sleeping on my back, the pain occurs when I turn to my back or side after being on abdomen. The pain lasts about 5 minutes. My doctor says it is from the RD, but most sites say it does not produce this type pain. If it is from RD, would my insurance pay to fix since it causes me significant pain?
Hi. I am a 64 year old male recently diagnosed with diastasis recti, which appears to be at the3 to 4 inch range. The physical therapist some exercises to do and the surgeon advised to "lose some weight". Now my question is, could the diastasis be a result of constipation (pushing has been severe at times) , considering I've had the problem since I was a child, and not necessarily due to obesity? Will I be able to repair this by exercise and weight loss, or is this just false hope?
I am a 59 yr. old male with at least a 6 inch diastasis recti running vertically down my abs. I love lifting weights and exercising. Do I need to get this recti fixed before it could cause a hernia or become a hernina. One doctor told me that just repairing it would only be temporary until I sarted to work out again and I could tear it loose again. Another doctor said that is not true. You get it fixed and it will not tear loose when lifting weights. Who is right?
It appears that after 2 large pregnancies, 9lb babies, 33 and 38 years ago, I now at 57 years of age have a diastasis recti with lots of pain. I feel like my organs are falling out and I can not hold it in. My question is that if it is to this extreme would insurance pay to fix this? It is suspected that there is a hernia also.
I am a 55 year old male. For many years I always thought I had a hernia. I finally was at a gastro doc a few months ago that said no you have diastasis recti. extremely painful. is there a way to code this that insurance can and will pay for the procedure? Thanks Craig
