Hi there. About 2.5 years ago I had jaw surgery. I never had my hardware removed. The hardware around my mouth is bothering me a lot. I want to get it removed but i wonder if it is too late. I also wonder if my bone has grown over the screws, making it complicated to remove the screws? Please see my xray in the attached photos.
I had a dental implant that was screw retained and put in, in 2016. In 2023 I was told that it was loose and they weren't able to tighten it and broke it. They then cemented it in in 2023 without discussing with me that it was no longer going to be screw retained. It continues to fall out. What would be the reason that it couldn't be re-installed being a screw retained implant? It was never discussed with me as to what they were doing or that it was no longer going to be screw retained
After 2 months of getting my dental implants, one of the screws came off so I went to the dentist. The dentist took it from my hand and without sterilizing or disinfecting it straight away screwed it back in place very tightly. When I reached home I had a lot of discomfort and the next morning my entire lt face was swollen. I called the dentist and told him about it and he just asked me to take some anti inflammatory and antibiotics. Should I go to some other dentist and get the screw removed?
I have an implant that had been in for a couple of years, no crown on it yet, I have been wearing a temporary denture and using adhesive. Should I stop putting the adhesive over the implant area? I just woke up and the screw was in my mouth, i screwed it back in.
had 3 dental implants W/ bridge . 2 weeks after bridge, entire bridge came off. It was recemented but there was now a space between natural teeth and bridge. Then bridge became loose again after 2 weeks, dentist stated it was screws. he tightened them . Now not only space but bridge shifted forward. 2 days after tightening - the bridge is loose again. Am concerned about the way this bridge looks & why this keeps happening. I have lower implants next but hesitant to proceed.
Did 2 implant procedures 3 weeks ago and one of them fell off yesterday, just the screw covering the hole. I am on holiday and don't cpome back for 2 weeks. Can I wait or should I see a dentist? Thanks
I have implants in teeth 6,7,10,11. I got the implanta uncovered recently. When my Dr uncovered them he put a flat topped screw on and tightened to below the gums. He gave me long screws to take to my regular dentist who is making the crowns, but told me no work should be done for at least a week. The implants are only slightly visible, and I'm afraid the gums are going to heal over them before I get to my dentist? My Dr hasn't been very communicative about the whole procedure so I'm confused.
Why do they keep falling out of the top denture..the bottom is tight and secure. The top feels a little loose. Could my gums have shrunk that much? I had this done in July..don't have permanents yet.
He stripped the screw. Then drilled out about half of it. He said he did not want to harm the implant. He plans to cement a new screw in. Is this the proper fix? If I have problems with it again in the future will the cement be able to come out?
