In fixing my loose implant the dentist stripped the screw head. Is he fixing it properly?

He stripped the screw. Then drilled out about half of it. He said he did not want to harm the implant. He plans to cement a new screw in. Is this the proper fix? If I have problems with it again in the future will the cement be able to come out?

Difficult to answer properly without seeing the problem...First, there are ways to get all of the screw out......It is important that entire screw is removed...A new screw to fit your implant is next, followed by an abutment. ...Cementing a screw is not the answer.

Hello Pat,Cementing the screw is not a proper fix. Implants can be removed if necessary and replaced or any number of things. You may want to consider seeking the opinion of another implant specialist.Best of luck.
