Hi, Im an Asian Female whos had a colourful dental history - thumbsucking as a child led to many dental issues & procedures & treatments. I had been told by previous dentist that my teeth are too big, my jaw too small which led to teethcrowding, wisdom teeth and TMJ issues that has caused so much facial asymmetry to my face as well as my lips. Im so depressed as I feel I have done all I could/spent so much yet the pic attached is the best its been and it still looks bad. Help!
I am 72 year old, caucasian woman. I had all my teeth removed in august and 5 implants on the upper and 5 on the lower, and upper and lower temporaries attached. The temporaries are asymmetrical, the centers are not aligned, the arches are protruding up to 1/2 cm away from my gums, there are bulky parts on my floor and on my palate making it difficult to talk, I only touch one or two points, my smile is crooked. The dentist does not consider correcting anything before the wax try in after 6 month.
My adontia was corrected as a teen by an ortho who left the baby tooth on the left and placed an implant after treatment. On the right he moved the teeth over after pulling the baby teeth. Now I live in Germany, I went to an ortho but said that he would not do treatment bc it could cause serious problems with my jaw, like TMJ and root misplacement. But 2 orthos in the US recommend diff. treatments. Is it be safe to widen the arch of an adult? I cried for the rest of the day bc he could not help.
26yrs old. Growing up my right lateral incisor tooth fell out and never grew back and recently I had my left lateral incisor tooth pulled because it was a dead baby tooth. So now I have no lateral incisors. I find that the right side of my face looks different from my left (the picture with nose ring). Is it because the bone loss over many years has caused it to change? The right side is where my tooth fell out first. My left side is my better side. If I get implants will the right side change?
The front tooth was extracted in between two pregnancies, The implant placed after my son was born. I had bone graft at time of extraction and during implant being placed. I seemed to really lose a lot of gum after they exposed the implant. Theres hardly gum left between front and side tooth and two front teeth. Dentist added bonding to side tooth to minimize the space where there is no gum now but I still hate how asymmetrical the gum line is, what are my options? Re do crown with pink gum?
I had a canine tooth coming in too high in my gums when I was about 13. Instead of having it fixed, the dentist specialist extracted it. I eventually got a dental implants years later, but the damage had already been done. I have gum recession around that area and my smile overall looks really asymmetrical. It seems the gum that was suppose to support my canine moved back to my first molar. Is there any hope for me to regain a symmetrical smile?
I lost my upper tooth on the right side (#5) 10-15 years ago. The gap between the teeth has almost closed. I noticed that my lips are assymetric now, since the teeth moved in a little and it caused a loss of volume in the right side of my face. Also the nasal-labial fold on the right side of my face is more prominent. What could be the option to fix it. Is it still possible to push over the teeth and put an implant or is it too late?
I had a root canal on a tooth years ago, but it's broken at gum level, making it hard to secure the crown. It's fallen off several times, and the dentist suggested removing it. I dont want to wait 3 months for an implant because it causes bone loss, which can lead to facial asymmetry. Ive been told this by plastic surgeons. I dont want to risk asymmetry. Can I get an immediate implant, or what options do I have to avoid waiting?
