I had a in implant placed a few years ago Bc am concerned about resorption. This is an X-ray that was taken at the dentist. Are you able to detect any resorption, if not, what X-ray do I need to get an idea of what's going on? I also have chronic tingling on my lower gums.
Dear doctors, I already had a (full body I think) CT scan when I was 17 years old. Im 21 now, Id really like to get a better jaw shape and was considering implants, but the fact that I need to be exposed to additional rays of a CT scan only for aesthetic purposes is holding me back. Can an MRI or normal X-ray still do the job? (I suppose theyre not 3D images but Id even be keen to pay more for it). Thank you very much.
I had a chin augmentation a few weeks ago and a couple of weeks after I had an X-ray from a routine ortho check up. It shows my implant above my chin. I can palpate below the implant all around the sides and front and still feel my natural bone. It makes my jawline look more round than before. The final look isnt completely horrible but its pointing upward. Im 100% positive Im going to get a revision. What type of implant would be best to project more along the jawline?
I want to get an extra large anatomical implant, however I want it to be a totally private. I would rather opt out of getting the chin implant fastened with screws, since they are quite easily discernible on an x ray.
Im tired of having HA fillers so often to keep the result im looking for. I want a permanent solution to my short chin, and genioplasty is no option. But im terrified of getting bone loss as a result of an implant. What if i get bone erosion and have to get it removed, there would be nothing left of my (already before the implant) short chin. If i take x-rays of the chin every year would i be able to notice a possible bone erosion early? And get if removed before it makes a visible damage?
I recently went to the dentist to find that I have horizontally impacted wisdom teeth in my lower jaw below the gum which may need to be removed sometime in the future. Will having a chin implant affect any dental work and will i have to let them know? Also do implants show up on dental x-rays - the panoramic ones they take of your upper and lower teeth?
