I got breast reduction last week and also asked the doctor to remove some rolls of fat by the side of the bra area. When I came out of surgery my sides were extremely swollen and still are . A day later one of my drains wasnt working and the I had narcosis. The doctor had to cut the side of my oblique and fixed it. Now I have a huge purple bruise and very swollen. The doctor said it was ok, should I be worried? I had surgery out of state and now Im back home.
I had a reduction from a GG to D 2years ago. Scars at first were thin lines, hidden under the breast. Over time they have thickened, mainly on the inner chest and are painful when not wearing a bra. The anchor coming down from the nipple also has a purple area that has spread outwards. My main problem area is the scars on the inner chest as they are visible when wearing certain tops and bikinis. That may sound superficial but they are giving me as much of a complex as when I had bigger breasts.
Delighted with result and scar healing but dont like the pinky/purple hue of both lower parts of breast. Was told it will fade but I dont see that happening. What causes this and can I do anything to get rid of it please. Also, what are thoughts on silicone strips or cream 3 months on- will that improve my scars anymore than moisturiser and massage ??
I had a Breast reduction 2 weeks ago. After I got my bandages taken off I noticed that my right breast was very swollen and had a few bruises. As days went by the swollen started to go down slowly, however under my breast has turned a dark purple colour. Could that be a sign of an infection or something?
A day after surgery part of each areola turned puffy/purple. Surgeon texted me not to worry, but gently move breast around. These became necrotic. I Am debrided weekly and have open wounds. After first debridement I felt sick and GP said infection. Surgeon says he bets there's no infection. cultures show Staph infection. I'm losing confidence in my surgeon and I am concerned. Should I seek a second opinion? Both look much better, but wet to dry dressing still pulls out smelly green substance.
Since day 1, my right nipple and areola have been purple. I'm trying to maintain a positive attitude but I am quite afraid that I'll have to go back under the knife. As of right now, I've been told to apply Polysporin 4 times a day to keep moist.
I've been having issues with my T incision. My PS doesn't seem to be concerned. He said it is probably not an infection but will put me on antibiotics if it makes me feel better. The incision looks purple. I have a follow up appointment on Friday. I am 3 weeks post op.
