Question

Delighted with result and scar healing but don’t like the pinky/purple hue of both lower parts of breast. Was told it will fade but I don’t see that happening. What causes this and can I do anything to get rid of it please. Also, what are thoughts on silicone strips or cream 3 months on- will that improve my scars anymore than moisturiser and massage ??

Congratulations on having undergone the breast reduction procedure.  Always best to follow-up with your plastic surgeon for specific assessment and advice. Having said that, the pink hue you noticed is commonly seen after breast reduction and lifting.   This coloration is likely related to vascular changes that occur when flaps are developed during the procedures.   I have seen this coloration confused for signs of infection. I agree that the coloration tends to fade over time.  In my practice, I do advise the use of silicone gel strips during the first year. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with long-term.
