Hi can anyone help with my situation. I had expander with mastectomy for breast cancer recurrance iand previously had radiotheraphy in 2017. Then it was decided to do the LD flap and implant togethet last November. When I saw it at 1st it looked really flat and wide under the arm. It has gone down under the arm but now still out a bit, wide looking and sunk in cleavage area. Expansion was 450cc and implant used is mentor 300cc, CPG 311. It looks too wide and flat.
Four weeks ago I had a latissimus dorsi flap surgery placed along with tissue expanders. 6-8 months prior to that I had a double mastectomy/radiation due to left breast cancer. Few days ago I noticed a little redness spreading around the back incision site looking like a start of a bruise. Also, noticing a little change in redness and little purple around the left side tissue expander. I had my first fill about 2 weeks ago. I wasn't sure if that is normal to have delayed bruising after surgery.
Hi! I had a mastectomy on the right side. I am small busted and chose a total mastectomy on that side. I have had 2 different tissue expanders on that side and both have had to be removed due to staph infections. I am going to try the latimus procedure in June with a tissues expander. I did not have radiation or chemo due to early detection. This is my second cancer. I had rectal cancer 8 years ago with radiation, chemo and a permanent colostomy. negative.
I am 5 weeks post op from augmentation with a lat flap due to Polands syndrome. I went through the ER for a dry cough I have been having. After having an x Ray, they told me that on the side of surgery, I still have a lot of fluid around my chest and a small plueral effusion. Could the fluid by my lung be due to the implant and excessive fluid still on that side?
The previous expander placement failed on the radiated breast. Now lay flap planned. Home care was horribly painful after last surgery. Especially getting up. Planning on using the recliner this time. How will I stay comfortable and mobile when I get home?
