My silicone implants are 40 years old (had surgery when I was 19 in 1978). I have had no problems with them until last year I fell and landed on my side mostly my boob. I know it sounds funny but I t what happened a few days later it turned bright red so I went to Emergency and was told it was cellulitis, did x-ray and scan , no leak was found. Several months later (now) I have noticed several hard lumps in the nipple area ... Can't really go to dr for this can go to the ER though.
I fell hitting both breast about 3/4 mo. Ago went to Dr. About 1 mo. Ago with what felt like swelling/burning in underarms. Very worried about rupture. Had mammogram last year. No cancer but there was a small leak in left breast. Radiologist said all was ok.
I am very sick & doctors don't understand why. I'm a 76 y/ o female whose had silicon breast implants in 76. I had an MRI to r/o a leak but wonder if they can be missing something. I have chronic inflammation in my lungs ( non smoker) healthy heart, no other underlying but have serious chronic fatigue ( was very busy body up to a year ago) and can't breath well. Oxygen level is ok despite feeling oxygen starved .
The rupture of both implants was confirmed by MRI. Beneath my L breast what appears to be a keloid scar has formed. It feels sticky to the touch and stings with soap application when I shower. I cannot afford explantation (Medicare regards removal as a cosmetic procedure)--is it dangerous to my health--as I have no alternative--to leave the implants in?
I Getting the gel into my brain or heart and organs. My question is what damages in the worst case can happen to my health? have since 38 years selicon Implants and I guess that the implants got ruptured over the last 2 mammographies and the implants liking now.
