Was consulted for mild A cup tubular breasts, goal large B cup. He suggested internal releases and a lower implant for a more natural shape, which may increase the risk of temporary or permanent nipple sensitivity loss. Online, I found standard implants have a 5-7% risk, while with releases, it could be 15-20%. Are these estimates accurate? Are there other risks with releases? How long could sensitivity take to come back? Can damaged nerves heal, or is it irreversible? What are the statistics?
I'm 44 years old & my nerves have always been problematic - every surgery I've had (knee and foot) have resulted in some sort of nerve damage or loss. I'm terrified of losing sensitivity in my nipples (my favorite erogenous zone) with a boob job. Was my nerve damage before just a coincidence or can some people have nerves more prone to damage?
i had my BA 11 years ago. the incision is through the nipples. i noticed a discomforting sensation on my right nipples when stimulated compared to my left. is this normal and what could have happened? any tips and advice is appreciated. my dr is located in a different state.
I had my augmentation 4 days ago. Under muscle through the crease. My right side is ok but my Left is much more painful. My left had a drain the right did not. During the day it's not as bad but my left arm feels tingly and numb. However at night I wake up screaming. My arm feels almost separate to my body and I have to vigorously rub my veins and get my boyfriend to lay on it to stop it hurting. It's also while sleeping that my left breast hurts my chest. I'm worried about nerve damage
I had breast augmentation 2 years ago and believe I have a neuroma or trapped nerve in scar tissue in left breast. I had pain immediately following surgery and now it is almost constant tingling/burning/itching. Have seen doctor many times and assures that no capsular contracture or anything obvious. Was prescribed antihistamines. Nothing works. Will a neuroma get better over time or will I need resurgery to remove scar tissue?
Let me first say that I am extremely happy with the outcome of my plastic surgery and am now six weeks post-op. I had several procedures done at one time: a secondary face lift and a breast lift with 300cc saline implants. The implants were placed under the muscle. I still have a lot of pain on and off (stabbing, burning and extreme skin sensitivity.) Since I workout six days a week and had tight muscles, my surgery was lengthy. I was under anesthetic for 8.5 hrs. How long will this pain last?
