I will be taking off braces in 2 weeks (2 months earlier) as braces ruin my face, i aged, sunken cheekbone (severe, looks like skeleton). I wanted to ask if I am not wearing retainer will it bring back my previous face (at lease close to, more fuller I hope). i dont have any extraction but lined up teeth, closes some gaps. I hope if i am not wearing retainer may at least shift back my teeth to where they were. Thanks!
As you can see in the pictures, there's some protrusion going on with my teeth, more on the left side of my face which makes one nostril appear smaller than the other and the cheekbone on that side is also a bit more prominent than the other. How can I fix the protrusion on the left side of my mouth and the protrusion altogether? I can't seem to find a solution.
I thinking about getting braces to reduce my slight mouth protrusion (common in asians). I talked to several orthodontists and it seems that extracting 4 teeth is necessary to reduce protrusion. But I saw online that a lot of people got negative profile change (called braces face?). How often are negative changes?
At age 32 I decided to fix my overbite. The orthodontist I went to suggested the herbst appliance along with braces. I wore the herbst for 12 months and continued the braces for another 15 months. The over bite was corrected by 70%, but now my temples and eyes are sunken and my cheek bones stick out like skelator. I have not lost weight, I am actually a little heavier, so I know this isn't it. Did the herbst cause this? Is there any way to correct this strange ugly look? I am so unhappy.
