I developed Bells palsy in march and went on to develop synkinesis. I got treated with Botox around my eye to stop it from closing when smiling/chewing etc. It worked well for this and gave me some confidence back which had been really impacted by the Bells palsy. The only issue I had was that any time I ate my eye would water and tears would stream down my face, is this common?
I had Botox injected (30 units) on right side masseter area & (15 units left side), 2.5 months ago. A week ago, I noticed soreness upon chewing on the right side. What is going on? I experienced soreness right after the injections, which went away normally. But now feeling soreness every time I bite down or chew on the right side scares me. I'm a dentist & I know I don't grind. I have never been a grinder & never experienced jaw soreness like this until now.
I had Botox jaw reduction 10 days ago. Unlike what my friends with past experience said, my doctor said that chewing wouldn't affect the effect. So I followed. Now I still don't see any improvements. I didn't even have any discomfort on the muscles since the injection. I'm not sure how many units were injected but I guess it wasn't enough. If so, It is safe to do another injection in addition next week? I really need improvement before early March. What else can I do to get result soon?
2 days ago I received botox treatment in order to soften my jawline. 24 hours after the treatment I realized that I have bruising and a bulge (only when I clench and chew) on the right side of my face. My jaw was aching quite considerably the day after the treatment but this has now subsided. I am worried as the bulge has not reduced in size yet. I can also feel that the muscle in the right side of my face is swollen or bigger when I relax than the left side - which was not the case before.
Hi, I have a asymmetrical jaw that I guess comes from grinding my teeth and chewing mainly on one side (my crooked teeth are beeing treated and should be aligned in ca. 10months). I wonder if the asymetrical look can be corrected with botox. What results can I expect? How many ml I would need on each side?
I'm getting Botox in forehead, 11's, crow's feet, & masseter muscle. I know Botox is sensitive to migration for 4-6 hours after injection. I'm a very expressive talker & I make a lot of facial expressions in conversation. With the 4 areas I'm getting Botox, it safe to raise eyebrows, wrinkle forehead, make frown lines, squint, chew food, smile, & make other facial expressions immediately after Botox? Also, can I wear sunglasses or a hat? I'm concerned about Botox migrating to unintended areas.
An hour and half after my 2nd set of botox a knot appeared then developed into pain deep inside my jaw/ear area a few hours later, directly in front of my ear, it is aggrevated by taking/chewing/swallowing. My neurologist was out of the office since the shot, but I had a GP check it for infection, ect.., they only found slight swelling and a painful lymph node in front of my ear. I attached a photo of where the knot formed and it is gone, but the pain and slight swelling is still there.
