Week 1 my incisions opened under both arms. My surgeon closed both original openings with more sutures at 3 weeks. A few sutures did not hold due to poor surrounding tissue. Because I still have sutures close to the wound, what would you recommend for an expeditious recovery? I currently have hydrogel gauze or petroleum jelly. I'm not sure what to use because of surrounding sutures that are holding. Currently the wounds are covered with dry guaze. Thank you for your time.
2 months PO Brachioplasty; a week ago a quill suture popped out of the botton of my arm pit incision and got stuck. It was agonizing; hurt TERRIBLY, but it did come out. I feel other sutures trying to poke through the upper part of the incision but aren't quite there; should I go back to my surgeon before my next appt (in about a month) or wait to see if they pop out? They are right at the surface. I'm afraid they'll be more painful quill sutures.
two weeks post op and the arms are still hurting my tummy tuck was a walk in the park compared to this.....the sutures are now pulling as my arms are healing.....I feel aching pain and alot of bruising.....waiting for my compression jacket to arrive as I had an allergic reaction to the latex in the tensor bandages that I was wrapped in hoping it will help still taking T3 nerve tingling too
I had brachioplasty on both arms 5 weeks ago. It is healing nicely, per my doctor. However, it feels like some of the stitches along my suture line are trying to poke through the skin.
My PS used staples for my brachioplasty instead of dissolvable sutures (also in the armpit area). Is this normal? She said my skin was paper thin and that it takes 6 - 7 weeks for your body to break down the sutures. Is this correct. I have to say that the staples were very uncomfortable/painful during recovery - especially in the armpit area.
