I was provided a garment to wear that is like a small jacket, and not uncomfortable on cool days with clothes over, but warm days are unbearable so Im looking for alternatives. Ive purchased a pair of upper arm sleeves but they do not feel tight enough. Is the goal to be compressed tightly or to simply prevent the skin from sagging? The pair of arm sleeves indeed prevents sag but doesnt necessarily provide tight compression. Thank you in advance.
I am now 6 weeks post op, I had lipo in my upper arms and an arm lift with the incisions being in my underarm. I am still feeling uncomfortable numbness in both arms, one more than the other. I am still wearing my compression garment because whenever i take it off the numbness gets worse and I feel like my arms are huge. Is it okay to keep wearing the compression garment for more than 6 weeks? And what can I do to reduce the numbness?
Hi, my surgery was 7 weeks ago. My right forearm hurts, I can stretch my arm completely but it hurts when I do.. like it is pulling from the wrist to the elbow (inner part). Also, I bought a compression garment and it feels comfortable on the upper and lower side of arm but in the middle seems to press and it makes this pain worse. Do you think maybe it is too tight? or should I just wear it until I get used to it? Thanks.
I just had an arm lift procedure and my plastic surgeon does not believe in compression garments and I only have paper bandages on the incisions. My arms have swelled only slightly and are somewhat black and blue. But other than that everything seems fine so far only four days out Im concerned about the lack of compression garments to keep the swelling down and why he choose not to use them.
I am 63. I had arm lift surgery 9 months ago. After 4 months the results were looking good. I wore a compression garment for the first 5 months. It is now 9 months post surgery, and the arms have dropped noticeably, and the results are no longer satisfactory. My weight has remained constant, and so has my health. My doctor only explained that the procedure was performed properly, and has not acknowledged that there is an issue.
Hello - thinking of getting an arm lift. The surgeon I am leaning towards uses drains, which I am cool with b/c I think it will help reduce swelling and tension on the scar. Is compression still necessary? I had a thigh lift 4 years ago and my surgeon said he doesn't find it makes a difference in recovery. I would LOVE to not wear compression. To me it is always painful and very uncomfortable. How critical is this towards recovery?
Im planning on staying by myself after my surgery but am having friends check in on me each day if I need them. What exactly will I need help with? Will I be able to feed myself? Take things from the refrigerator and heat them up? Get water? Bathroom? Showering? Putting compression garmet back on? I have a wedge pillow and pillows for my arms. Ive prepped food and have soft foods. Including yogurt smoothies with straws. Im getting nervous so any suggestions or tips send my way!
I have noticed that my arm lift scars are much wider than any other scars from surgery including my breast reduction and lift. I am 9 weeks out and still in a compression garment. I also still have one arm noticeable larger than the other which concerns me but the doctor says wait and see. I see him in 2 months. I realize things take time but I would like to have presentable scaring by short sleeve weather in the deep south.
