I'm curious what options exist for me while I currently take low dose (30 to 60mg/week, 1 or 2x30mg pills/week) acctane to improve skin elasticity and texture. I'd be looking for sometime comparable to Morpheus8 but this is contradicted in patients on accutane. I take this low dose accutane as long term maintenance to avoid cystic acne recurrence. I've done some procedures where I go off accutane for a week or so with scar formation or issues.
Hello, I recently finished my 8 month course of accutane 5 days ago where I reached 240 mg/kg cumulative dose. Skin looks good, still dry. Anyways, I have two questions: When do you think I could start using power peel multi-acid resurfacing pads and how often should I use? What is the best way to address small pimples and clogged pores? I'm thinking using some on the spot benzoyl peroxide treatment at night would be a good way to target specific spots without drying my entire face up too much.
Im 40 years and I have struggled with acne since I was 10. I tried EVERYTHING nothing helped. So since 2008 Ive done 5 accutane rounds: 1st round 18 months with 30 mg daily 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds: 6 month with 30 mg daily 5th round: 15 months with 10 mg daily My skin is perfect with accutane, but it all comes back eventually. I consider staying on a very low dose for some years (maybe 20-30 mg per week or even less). Would that be a good idea?
I am confused, as I received two info from two different doctors. One advised to take accutance in last week of each month for 6 months. The another said that he prefers that I take accutance twice weekly to make the dose stable in my blood, cause taking it for one week and then stopping for three weeks make the dose high in the blood and then low again. Please advise which one I should follow?
I find a lot of conflicting information regarding maintenance doses of accutane on the internet. Currently I am on 10 mg/day and plan to run this for two months. I am on this purely for oily skin. Would a two month course at this amount followed by 20 mg a week indefinitely work in keeping my skin oil free permanently? I am running this course under the supervision of a dermatologist. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my question.
I will be finishing a 6 month treatment in a few days and will see my derm a few days after. A few months ago he mentioned we'd discuss maintenance once I finished. I'm pretty clear but have red scars ( I think the previous active acne was hiding scars) from occasional breakouts while taking it. Online searches said topical retinoids are commonly used. I used Retin-A-Miro prior to accutane with no results. Generally speaking, what's the next step after I finish?
