Hello Ideane,A porcelain veneer may be referred to as a partial veneer as it does not cover the entire tooth. Instead, it covers the front and wraps around the sides and biting edge. A partial veneer can also be used to describe a restoration that only covers a portion of the facial surface (front) of a tooth. This technique can be used to fix a defect or discoloration that is present but that doesn't affect the entire facial surface. While this technique is possible, I would recommend a traditional veneer for better results. Good luck and I hope this helps.
