This makes it more expensive for the patient. Why do they have to do it this way?
Answer: His model is useful and delivers great results. That is how the company created Fraxel laser and it is most probably their way to maximize their profit since they do not sell Fraxel laser machines every day, they need to make profit on something. This model is useful and delivers great results. If it keeps giving to us, they made it so it keeps giving them the revenue by replacing consumables.

Answer: Fraxel and Consumables As Dr. Lim pointed out, the consumables are a way for Fraxel to make a profit every single time that you use the machine. They were the first company to realize that they can maximize profits not just from selling you the laser. It becomes like a copy machine which charges for expensive cartridges. Best, Dr. Green

Answer: Consumables for devices... Thank you for your question. The device companies have figured out that by including a consumable (Fraxel, Coolsculpting, Sculpsure, Ulthera, Hydrafacial, etc.) that they can keep a percentage of the revenue of every treatment performed thus strengthening their bottom line. This also allows them to enforce price minimums by making you sign a minimum advertised price agreement otherwise they will not sell you the consumable. Patients and doctors alike universally dislike consumables as it keeps costs high for consumers (both with minimum advertised pricing and adding the cost of the consumable to their treatment), keep the device manufacturer hands in the pocket of the doctor decreasing their revenue, but it is a model that is not going away and will be here to stay unfortunately.

Answer: Because they can The real reason is because they can. The reason they give is that this money is used to promote the laser company in good standing. I am on the Fraxel International Board, I disagree with their move - especially when it comes to Fraxel RePair- having a consumable CO2 is a silly strategy on their part. Saying it like it is.
