Minoxidil and big pores. Is this side effect reversible?

I am 26 years old female , i am suffering from hair loss for 3 months now, the dermatologist prescribed minoxidil for me and I have been using it for 25 days until I found big enlarged pores on my cheeks near my nose, which appeared suddenly , I usually have a perfect skin . I stopped minoxidil beause of that for one week now . I am so concerened about them . Is this side effect revirsible and if its not what will help them disappear ?

If you believe you have a side effect from minoxidil see your doctor for an exam.  If it did cause your skin pores to enlarge it should reverse after stopping.

I have not seen or read about this complaint, but when it comes to medication, anything is possible.  I assume you are not applying the medication to your face but rather feel that because the pores enlarged soon after applying the minoxidil to the scalp there is an association.  This is possible, but not likely.  Minoxidil applied topically is very poorly absorbed systemically and effects tend to be local.  Since the benefits of minoxidil are rather high in female hair loss, I would suggest stopping for a while (2-3 weeks) and seeing if the pores improve.  If they do not, than the minoxidil is not likely contributing.  If they do improve, I would restart the minoxidil and see if they enlarge again.  This way you should have your answer. A great alternative to medical therapy is cellular therapy with PRP or stem cells.  These natural treatments use your own bodies cells to help heal tissue and promote hair growth and decrease hair loss.

Usually when you stop these types of topical medications, any topical side effects will disappear. Wait it ot and best to go back to your dermatologist and be examined by that doctor
