Is there any way to fix a squared & fatter looking jawline after Sculptra? I had a total of 3 viles of Sculptra 6 weeks apart to tighten my jowls. It's now 7 months past my first injection and my jawline looks way more squared, bumpy and fatter. I did not gain any weigh in the interim. It seems like the injection wasn't placed correctly. It almost looks like I had no chin bc my jaw is so full. I know Sculptra can't be dissolved. What can I do?
Answer: Managing Complications After Sculptra Injections: Options for a Square and Bumpy Jawline If Sculptra has resulted in a squared, bumpy, or fuller jawline, there are several approaches you can consider to address these concerns: Consult with an Experienced Injector: The first step is to consult with a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who has extensive experience with Sculptra and facial anatomy. They can assess the situation accurately and provide tailored advice. Massage: In some cases, gentle and regular massage of the affected area can help smooth out any irregularities and promote even distribution of the product. Your dermatologist can guide you on the appropriate technique and frequency. Additional Treatments: Depending on the assessment, additional treatments may help refine the appearance: Steroid Injections: Injections of corticosteroids can sometimes help reduce excess volume or nodules by decreasing inflammation and promoting breakdown of excess collagen. Laser or Ultrasound Therapy: Certain laser treatments or ultrasound therapies can help remodel collagen and improve skin texture and contour. Time: Sculptra works by stimulating your body’s own collagen production, which means its effects can change over time. Sometimes, waiting for the body to naturally metabolize and remodel the collagen can lead to improvement. Surgical Options: In cases where non-surgical approaches are insufficient, surgical intervention might be considered to contour the jawline. This should be discussed thoroughly with a surgeon to understand the risks and benefits. Remember, addressing cosmetic concerns with fillers can be complex and may require a combination of approaches. Ensuring you have a skilled and understanding practitioner is crucial for achieving the best possible outcome.

Answer: Jaw area appears squared and bumpy after Sculptra - what can be done to address this? (photos) Hello MM, I would recommend evaluation of your facial structure with possible rebalancing of your face to minimize the effect of your recent Sculptra treatment. Good luck and be well. Answer: Treating Non HA Filler Complications May Require An Algorithm Of Varying Intralesional Medications Sorry that this has happened to you. It is for problems such as these, besides the expense, lack of immediate results, lack of a specific dissolving enzyme should something go wrong, as well as the typical need for three treatment sessions to see results, that I stopped using Sculptra many years ago. I have fortunately had success in treating patients who have come to me from elsewhere in treating complications from this, as well as other semi-permanent and permanent fillers, employing varying combinations, concentrations, and amounts of intralesional anti-inflammatory agents. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist filler expert. Hope this helps and best of luck.
