Wearing hats, and washing your hair post otoplasty?

Yes, those things could affect the results of your otoplasty, but only during the first few weeks post-op. After around six weeks, your ears should have healed enough to assume a permanent shape.
If you’re planning to get revision surgery, just make sure that you look for a board-certified and reputable plastic surgeon and follow his instructions during recovery. Don’t forget to go on follow-up checkups to monitor how your ears are healing.

It depends on the method you had your revision surgery carried out with. If it was the minimally invasive Merck Stitch Method, by which you can check and co-determine the result during the operation, you can wear a hat straight after the operation. You may also immediately dry your ears, and it doesn’t matter if you hit your ears while doing so. All movements that you could put your ears through before the operation, whether intentional or unintentional, are immediately possible after an operation with this method as unbreakable, non-absorbable sutures are used.
