Should deep root cleaning be done on veneers?

Over instrumentation can eliminate the laboratory glaze finish on the veneers, subsequently increasing the chances for discoloration/staining. TOO much pressure on the edge of the veneer may cause chipping or delamination. Sonic scalers should be used with caution, but hand instruments are much safer.Hope that helps!

 Deep cleaning can be done on veneers. The deep cleaning cleans the roots and the tartar that is accumulated on them; it does not touch the actual veneer. However make sure that abrasive pastes are not used on the veneers  as to allow the glaze to remain on for many years dr ledak

veneers are performed 2 mm, below the gum line , and to have tartar around those veneers its important to remove it ,the only complication  is to have the gums to receed ,then you will have the root of the tooth exposed, and you do not want that,because you will have cavities , so if you are having those veneers to get a deep cleaning due to a gum pocket, then the only thing is not to harm the veneer line adjustment, and also to beware about the receding gum.but yes you can do it.
