Living in Winston-Salem currently, and not sure about the Medical profession down here. A doctor who owns and runs a skin care center told me Sciton Profile, urban doped yag laser. Just need to know if you agree?
Answer: Sciton is amazing for Resurfacing I completely agree the Sciton lasers are among the best for resurfacing, especially around the mouth. Unlike many other lasers, the Sciton is fully tunable which means you can truly customize exactly how you want to treat each area of the face. For perioral resurfacing, the Sciton is excellent because you can do ablation only, without coagulation. As most providers agree in the industry, the perioral area does not heal well after receiving coagulation. It will do very well with ablation alone. As always, please seek out someone with experience in skin resurfacing. Best wishes, Dr. Giordano

Answer: Laser for perioral wrinkles If you are trying to reduce or eliminate deep lines around the mouth, the Sciton Erbium laser would be one of the best. If your provider has extensive experience, that laser can do an amazing job of eliminating even the deepest lines. Your skin will take a good week to heal, and will be pink for several weeks to several months, but the result is worth it. If you only have mild wrinkling, then a Halo or two can do a wonderful job of improving the skin without the downtime and inconvenience of the full erbium resurfacing.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Facial Rejuvenation SpecialistQuintessa Aesthetic Centers

Answer: Best laser for periroal wrinkles Hands down it is Sciton ErYAG full field resurfacing laser. It does require your practitioner to have experience with it.That absloutely includes post operative care as well. I often use it and have results that are sometimes nothing short of amazing. Hope that you are a non-smoker and you too can greatly benefit from it. Based on how deep your perioral lines are will depend how much of downtime you need to prepare yourself for. Good luck , Dr. Daniyar

Answer: Resurfacing There are many lasers available that are FDA approved for laser resurfacing. There isn't one laser that is "better" than the other in terms of resurfacing. It is purely based on the technique and experience of the person performing the laser. One physician may tell you an Erbium is best while another says that CO2 is the best. The best thing is to consult with different dermatologists that provide resurfacing and then ask about their results and complication rate. Don't forget to ask who is actually performing the procedure. You should get a great result with any of the resurfacing lasers as long as it is done well. Good Luck!

Answer: Laser for perioral resurfacing If you are doing the peri oral resurfacing for lines, fractional resurfacing is not very effective. Full field resurfacing in my experience is much more effective. I do like an erbium laser for this but there are many physicians that like CO2 resurfacing. Both can be very effective in the right hands. Word of warning-this is a big deal, with significant recovery and frequent redness at the treated area that can last for weeks. Good luck with your decision.
