Granulation tissue getting worse after breast reduction post op over 3 months. Advice? (photos)

Many thanks for your question. Unfortunately the pictures have come out a little blurry and thus do not help advising you that much.
What I would say is that if you have a granulating wound 3 months post-surgery then it sounds like it is struggling to heal. I would advise that you seek the advice and treatment from your operating surgeon.
Granulation tissue is the immature healing tissue that your body produces when left to heal a wound by itself. It is not uncommon for the healing process to not switch off the grannulation phase, leading to the wound over-granulating. This in turn paradoxically prevents the wound from healing, oozes a clear fluid that sets to produce a yellow/green deposit (fibrin) and if knocked bleeds easily.
The way to deal with this is by switching off the mechanism, shrinking the over-granulation back thereby allowing the skin to heal over the surface. This can be done by either cauterising the over-granulating tissue with Silver Nitrate in the office/clinic or by the application to the wound of some topical steroid crème for a number of days (dependent upon the extent of the over-granulation).
