What is the scaring like for a jaw implant inserted from the outside?

After consultations regarding a jaw implant, I think it would be best for it to be done through the outside instead of in the mouth (significantly lower infection rate etc.). what is the scaring like for this type of procedure? and what area would the scaring be on? and the size of the scar? dont know if I posted this question in the right section.

I perform chin augmentation through one of two incisions, an intraoral (within the mouth) or a submental (under the chin). The intraoral incision has no external scar, and the submental incision is hidden in the chin crease. Either approach represents a virtually scarless surgery.

The incision is placed near the submental crease and is so small because the implant is flexible and can be placed through a small incision. Scarring is minimal and we recommend using a silicone gel/ointment following the surgery to minimize the scar, It generally heals very well. In some cases, the incision can be nearly invisible with a CO2 laser.
