Is invisalign stopping my permanent teeth from growing?

My best advice is to address this with your orthodontist as he has your X-rays and knows the history to better determine if the tooth is erupting or if something else is going on. Invisalign could possibly stop an erupting tooth if it is not creating enough space for the tooth to come in or the tooth is actually hitting off of the Invisalign. If the tooth isn't in yet, it just may be erupting which takes time or something on the inside is preventing it from coming through. That being said, I would need both good x-rays, and photos, of the tooth in question.There are several reasons why the tooth in question is not erupting into your mouth. However, without  being able to examine the aforementioned materials, I will not be able to answer your question with any degree of certainity

Sounds like you are in the Invisalign Teen system.  If the chewing surface of the new adult teeth are touching the aligners, you need to get the dentist to take new impressions and get new appliances.  These sorts of corrections are an expected part of treatment in your case.

A few questions I would ask:1. Are you certain you have an adult tooth underneath 2. How old are you?It is possible that the alligners if not blocked out for the erupting tooth will prevent adult tooth from erupting, however, Invisalign software usually places a Pontic around the missing tooth, allowing for space for future tooth eruption. It is a great idea to check with you provider.
