It is not normal to have yellow attachments unless you had something to eat after that caused the discolouration. I have seen attachments turn blue or red for a short while after you have had raspberries or blueberries. I would contact your orthodontist right away and bring this to their attention. I feel your pain. I have been recommending Invisalign for my patients for the last six years but recently started using it for myself. As a patient, the first thing I noticed was the cuts on my tongue and cheek area. This is a common problem especially if you talk a lot during the day for work or are just a talkative person. I realized that some areas on the trays were rough so I took a nail file and just smoothed those parts. This helped a bit and for other areas that were not rough but it was just a matter for me getting use to them, I used wax to slowly get my tongue and cheek use to it. I will tell you that even if you don't do any of the above, it gets better at day three because your tongue and cheek develop a thicker skin and can handle the roughness better. Hang in there. I have been recommending Acceledent to all my patients and now use it myself as an orthodontist going through Invisalign. What I love about Acceledent is that it can really speed up refinement. At Impressions Orthodontics, we run refinement trays at 5 day cycles and so majority of the time, refinements of 25 or less trays are done in 2 mons. Hope that helped. You can't go wrong.
I recommend this to my patients everyday and do it myself for my own Invisalign plus Acceledent treatment. It is a great suggestion.
I would say in my office, I would recommend the patient to move to tray 15 and keep it for 2 weeks instead of one and get the lower arch catch up. Although every case is different and it is better to confirm the protocol with your existing orthodontist. Good luck. Impressions orthodontics.
