Will the white patches on my face caused by Retin-A go away?

I used a retin A sample from my dermatologist on my face. Used it two times per week for three months and started developing white patches on my face. I discontinued using it, but will the white patches go awaa?

Topical vitamin A products can be harsh, particularly during the initial phase of use.  I recommend applying a heavy moisturizer after application to reduce irritation.  The white areas are like pityriasis alba from eczema but are due to the high irritation factor of the product you are using.  I also would recommend either starting with a lighter Vit A product, such as a strong retinol blend to get your skin used to turning over more rapidly.  Products with high concentrations of growth factor can eliminate the irritation of retinoids without using steroid creams.  Remember that a great skin regimen should focus on a balanced approach and be particular to your skin type.
